Whether you’re an aspiring photographer or have a photographer who works for your business, enter Silicon Beach Training’s photography competition to win a free training course. The winning entry will be announced on our blog, Twitter and Facebook as well as other social media platforms – an excellent way to generate online exposure and increase traffic to your website!
Photography competitions will run bi-monthly, and the theme this time is “My Home Town”. It’s up to you how you interpret this; it could be about people, architecture, landscape, culture etc.
To follow this competition head to Flickr or our Facebook page and hear about updates on our blog. We will also be announcing regular photography competitions and details of winners on Twitter so don’t forget to follow us @SBTtraining.
Read on to find out more about the free training prize, learn about the high profile photographers who will be judging the competition, and how you can enter.
The prize for the winning photographer is your choice of any public one or two day training course here at Silicon Beach Training in Brighton. You could try something creative like Photoshop Training, something practical like Time Management Training, brush up on something more technical like VBA for Excel Training or expand on your social media expertise with a Wordpress, Blogging or Social Media course. A full list of public courses can be found on our training dates page (only public courses with a maximum duration of two days can be claimed as your prize).
The prize is for the training course only and winners will be responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred.
Winning will also result in exposure across our website and various social networking sites (namely Twitter, Facebook and our blog) – excellent free promotion if you want to build your profile online.

We are pleased to announce that Brighton-based photographers Pete Barr Watson and Miss Aniela will be judging the competition.
Pete Barr Watson is a local photographic talent from a Flash design and development background, Pete has had work published in a number of books and magazines. He has been a jury member of the Prix Ars Electronica and is a long-standing judge for the Flash Film Festival. He’s also a member photographer of respected photo agency Magnesium which was founded in Tokyo in 2009; member photographers are well-connected, cover the globe and embrace the very highest standards in photography from fine art to fashion/editorial to reportage. Check out examples of his work on his Flickr account.
Self Portrait by Miss Aniela
Fine art photographer Miss Aniela – the screen name for Natalie Dybisz – is a local Flickr celebrity who rose to fame by promoting her work online. She is evidence of the power an artist can wield when using social media and the Internet to promote themself – as we discussed in our blog post on why women rule social media. In her own words, she is “a shining example of an artist who has used the internet to make a start in photography” – see her blog entry on successful social media for photographers. You can view Miss Aniela’s work on her Flickr account, or follow her on Twitter.
If you are a budding photographer – or have one working in your business – Miss Aniela is a perfect example of why should enter our competition! Kick start your online exposure to becoming a social media whiz kid (you could even claim a Social Media Training course as your prize to get you on your way!).
The deadline is Friday 21st May 5pm.
Please read the competition terms and conditions before entering.
