Ere we go by Mike McCormick

The shot was taken some while ago on the Brighton Pier amusement park. I loved the expression on their faces especially the woman who seems to be wondering where his hand is!!! An Alternative title????

It was shot on a little Nikon 5700 5 Megapixel camera. I thought the addition of the startled gull counterbalanced the shot and its expression matched the peoples expression.

Bambi van by Nick Eastham

I'm a hobbyist photographer really, in that I rarely make any money from it and that I have a day job that pays the bills.

Although I didn't grow up in Brighton & Hove, I have lived here longer than anywhere else and condsider it my home town. Since moving to Hove I have not lived any further than a few streets from the seafront and have consequently spent a lot of time down there. This photograph is just a typical scene that I might see any day of the week as I cycle to work and back, it is colourful, a bit traditional, a bit modern and also a little bit odd, like Brighton & Hove.

Shoreham by Paul Walsh

I am 32 years old and originally from Birmingham. I moved to Brighton a year ago to find a new home and a more sunnier side to life. I graduated from LJMU in 2002 where I studied fine art/documentary photography. Since then Ive been doing a mixture of travelling, working in various commercial photographic roles and following my own photographic endeavours at home and abroad. I currently earn a living between being a post man and a free lance photographer.

When I first moved to Brighton I began a new photographic project looking at the south coast of England. I will be continuing with the project for the next 2 years until its completion. The image I submitted is from that set and can be seen on my website under "work in progress".

The photograph I chose is particularly poignant for me as It captures my familiar feeling of departure and it also reminds me how very attached I am to my new home in Brighton. I often find myself leaving Brighton in order to explore the south coast of England with my camera. This photo was taken on a train that had recently departed Brighton station and was pulling into Shoreham.

Emma has lived in Brighton for 6 years and her love of photography stems back to working as picture editor for print magazines for a number of years. For years, she carried around a point and shoot but these days, she can be seen wandering around Brighton & Hove with her DSLR photographing everything in her path. She's also been keeping herself busy with gig photography for a youth and music culture agency and press shots for local DJ's and music artists.
