Prior to attending our ITIL Training courses we ask delegates to do a little pre-course reading to familiarise themselves with some key terms, which all helps when preparing for the ITIL Foundation Exam.

ITIL Training
ITIL Foundation training courses are 3 days long. Silicon Beach Training provides a 3 day course ITIL V3 Foundation training course leading to the ITIL V3 foundation qualification in Brighton, Sussex. Our ITIL Foundation course provides delegates with an understanding of the key concepts and terminology within the ITIL framework. Delegates take the ITIL V3 exam on the final day. The cost of the ITIL foundation examination is included in the course fee.
The key change ITIL V3 is a shift towards a service-driven lifecycle approach.
ITIL V2 mainly outlined that which should be done to improve processes, ITIL V3 is much clearer about how you should go about doing it.
A major addition in ITIL V3 is the demonstration of ROI to the business.
ITIL is an acronym for: Information Technology Infrastructure Library.
The ITIL Certificates are IT Service Management qualifications aimed at personnel wishing to become familiar with best practices for IT Service Management.

Most people that considering ITIL as a qualification do ITIL training to enhance their career prospects and for personal development reasons. An ITIL qualification can make your CV stronger. Many positions will have ITIL qualification as a prerequisite.
Companies that implement ITIL usually encourage employees to take the ITIL exams. It can make tenders for large contracts more attractive.

The ITIL qualification structure has completely changed and ITIL managers and practitioners are required to take a bridging course and exam in order to be eligible for the new ITIL Diploma.
Whilst the ITIL manuals contain everything you need, it is much harder to go it alone. Your interpretation of ITIL may be different to that required by the examination board. Your time may be better spent learning by attending an accredited ITIL training course.
For the intermediate or diploma levels, however, attending an accredited training course is compulsory.
If you hold an ITIL foundation certificate from previous versions of ITIL you will need to attend additional courses with an examination in order to update it to an ITIL V3
Candidates can expect to receive the result paper and certificate within four weeks.
In the unlikely event that you fail the exam after attending the ITIL Foundation Training course, you can take part in another examination session, you will need to pay an examination fee but you do not have to re attend the course. There is no limit to the number of times you can retake the examination.
Exam pass rates are generally much higher for delegates who have sat an accredited ITIL training course.
