Tips for Six Sigma Success
The best tip for making your Six Sigma project a success is to have a clearly defined Project Charter from the start.
We cover defining a Project Charter in our Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course using hands-on exercises, however you might find the following tips for your Project Charter useful:
- Overall the project should be limited to 6 months (certainly initially, later projects maybe bigger and take longer)
- Approximately half of your time should be spent on the Define and Measure steps.
- The key milestones to be defined on the Project Charter are:
- Define phase
- Measure phase
- Analyse phase
- Improve phase
- Control phase
- Much of the implementation work in control will be after the project has finished and the team disbanded
