MSP Themes: Business Case

The programme-level Business Case embraces the wider horizons of strategic outcomes from the programme’s projects. The Business Case effectively describes what the value is to the sponsoring organization from the outcomes of the programme.  Managing the business case is about making sure the balance of benefits, costs, timescales and risks are optimised throughout the programme.

The Business Case sets out the overall costs, planned benefit realisation and the risk profile of the programme in order to assess its viability and to make appropriate management decisions about its continued viability.

The development of the Business Case happens alongside the Blueprint enabling the programme to select the most cost-effective combination of projects and activity workstreams. Throughout the programme the information in the Business Case will be maintained and kept current.
