Hi Allan,

Yes the ASQ is one body that accredits for Six Sigma and is widely referred to as a benchmark in the US.

In the UK we don't have ONE clear accrediting body who sets the standard - there's the ASQ and also the BQF (British Quality Foundation), BSI and a number of others - but there's no one accreditor that everyone recognises as THE certification provider.

Hope that helps...

What about the american standard for quality (ASQ)? They are the body which gives out accreditation schemes and if any, all six-sigma programs should be accredited by them.

Unfortunately, there is no real Six Sigma accreditation body or quality control. No single organization in the UK oversees a standard body of knowledge or standardized Six Sigma tests or certification requirements.

It's ironic that the most popular quality methodology right now has no quality control on itself, but that's the situation.
