We’re proud to announce the launch of a brand new course in Responsive Web Design because we understand that websites now need to be accessible from a range of devices.
In the past, all webmasters had to do was design and build a website to render on desktop screens that didn’t differ much in size. Now, sites need to appear and function easily on a huge range of screens including desktop PCs, tablets and smartphones.
Our Responsive Web Design training is the latest addition to our range of courses in Mobile Development, and perfectly complements the other courses in our Mobile Web Design Week – see below for more details. We also offer a course in Mobile Web Design – a stand-alone course that teaches you how to use jQuery and Dreamweaver to create websites for mobile devices.

Consumers are now used to accessing the web whenever and however they want. They may use Twitter on their iPad whilst watching catch-up TV on their laptop – or even vice versa. Both (or all!) websites need to be able to work with all devices – or people will quickly turn their backs to start using rival sites that better suit their lifestyles.
Whilst you can build separate websites for different devices, it’s often quicker and easier to have just one site that works universally. You may also need to consider the use of Apps, which are becoming prevalent in-browser as well as native downloads. We offer training in iOS App Development and Android App Development.
Read our recent blog post for more about mobile websites, responsive websites and Apps.
This new 1-day Responsive Web Design course will take you through the fundamentals of designing responsive websites. We’ll start with a market overview of different devices, browsers and platforms used to view the web; and move on to the specifics of how websites need to recognise and adapt to each of these.
Our trainers are professional web designers who are passionate about giving others the skills to do the same. Although it’s a new course, the trainers are not new to Silicon Beach Training and consistently receive excellent feedback from delegates.
The course is hands-on and we will provide either a Mac or PC for you to use during the training – whichever you are most comfortable with.

The course is intensive, and it’s therefore most suitable for developers who have experience with using HTML and CSS.
We’ll give you an overview of the current mobile market for different devices and browsers, and knowledge of best practice for designing responsive websites. The course will cover screen resolution, flexible grids and fonts, resolution breakpoints, consideration of how people browse on mobile devices, and making calls from links. We’ll also teach you about how to effectively test your site on different devices.
Building responsive websites requires knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript – scroll down for more information about our Mobile Web Week.

Alex Braker says:
Yeah, I’m glad to know that a course on responsive web design is being launched. The new strategy of web design should include a website which is suitable for both mobile and computers hence it is imperative to design the responsive design to appear the same be it on any type of screen and device. Am sure this course would be helpful to overcome hurdles and launch a successful web site with responsive web design.
